Financial goals

Define a target, date and funding sources, then track progress and explore projections without moving the underlying money.

What it does

Goals connect an amount and target date with the portfolios, accounts or manual amounts intended to fund it. You can create, edit and remove goals, record monthly contributions and review progress toward the target.

The projection uses the goal's currency, funding, contribution and return assumptions to show possible future paths and an estimated success probability. You can preview changes before saving them.

Accounts with the redesigned goals view also organize goals into protection, security and growth horizons. Its proposal cards are calculated from your recorded data; a proposal remains unsaved until you review and confirm it.

What it does not do

  • It does not reserve, transfer or invest money assigned to a goal.
  • It does not change a portfolio or place orders when the projection is below the target.
  • It does not guarantee the target or the displayed probability.
  • It does not turn a generated proposal or consistency warning into personal investment advice.

Known limits

  • Projections are modelled scenarios. Results change with return, volatility, inflation, contribution and date assumptions.
  • When return or volatility is not set on the goal, the projection uses product defaults: 7% nominal or 4% real annual return and 15% volatility.
  • Success probability comes from an unseeded Monte Carlo simulation. It can vary slightly between calculations with the same inputs.
  • Progress is only as complete as the funding sources and currencies linked to the goal. A missing exchange rate or unsupported source is not counted as zero.
  • A spending stream is currently represented as capital needed at a date or as separate grouped goals; year-by-year outflows are not modelled.
  • Goals are owned by one user. Shared household goals are not supported.
  • Annual guided check-ins and automatic reduction of risk as a target approaches are not implemented.
